Valentine's Day Dinner At Home

If you're looking for a Valentine's Day dinner recipe for a romantic dinner at home, we've got you covered. Did you know we sell Sweetheart Steaks for the holiday? We simply remove the bone of our Certified Angus Beef Prime Rib, slice down into steaks, and trim the fat so that two boneless rib eyes become one heart.

Our Boneless Rib Eyes are $19.99 for Valentine's Day 2024.

Check out Tuesdays with Tony to see Deanna prep these Sweetheart Steaks.

SWEETHEART BONELESS RIBEYE

Certified Angus Beef Boneless Ribeye Gaiss' Market Cape May Butcher
  • 2 Boneless Rib Eye Steaks

  • Sale

  • Pepper

  • Oil (high heat oil preferred)

  • 2 tbp Butter (optional)

  • 1 Sprig Fresh Rosemary (optional)

  • 2 tsp Chopped Garlic (optional)

  1. Remove your sweetheart steaks from the fridge one hour before cooking and let them come to room temperature

  2. Before cooking, gently pat the steaks with a paper towel so they are fully dry. Season with salt and pepper on each side. We recommend fresh ground black pepper and kosher (not coarse) salt or sea salt, but you can use any type you have on hand,

  3. Heat your pan over a medium-high flame. Once heated, add enough oil to cat the bottom of the pan. OIL TIP: A high heat cooking oil is a great option. Look for avocado or grapeseed oil at the store. These oils have a smoke point of 450-500 degrees and will allow you to get an amazing sear without setting off that smoke alarm!

  4. Add your steaks to the pan and sear them for about 5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Don't be afraid to use a meat thermometer. Once your steak is at 130 degrees, you'll want to baste the steak and remove it from the stove.

  5. To baste (optional): Add your butter, rosemary and garlic to the pan. Turn off the flame once it is melted. Carefully hold the handle with your left hand and tilt the pan towards you so that the butter comes to the front. Take a spoon and carefully baste the steaks with the butter and garlic mixture.

  6. Remove the steaks from the pan and put on a plate covered with foil to rest for 5 minutes.
